YOUTH BOOK CLUB
Mondays
June 3 – June 24
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Join us as we embark on a heroic adventure reading The Lightning Thief together, the first book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Maybe you’ve heard your friends talk about this book, or the movie, or the series on Netflix… It’s a bestselling series! Hop in and read it with us!
We’ll read aloud each week (those who want to read out-loud can, others can read along or just listen). We’ll also have some “at-home reading” each week so we can get the whole book read in June.
If you get behind, don’t worry- we review each week and make sure everyone is up to speed and on the same page.
The Percy Jackson series is also available in large print and as graphic novels. This is a perfect summer read and we can’t wait to do this adventure with our book club!
Youth may join the book club at any time.

TEEN VOLUNTEERS
Our teen volunteers ROCK! They make all that we do throughout the summer possible (and more fun!) Teen volunteers assist with story times, events and programs, and create an amazing summer atmosphere at the library with fun decor and details.
Volunteer applications/shift schedules are available at the library.
Volunteens pick their own schedules (including which tasks or programs to work), so teens can help as it best fits their calendars and interests. For more information, contact Youth Services Librarian, Jo Brazil, at jbrazil@wpl.org, or call 620-221-4470.
UPCOMING TEEN WORK DAYS (to prep/decorate for summer):
Teens can attend/participate at the work days without commitment; it’s the perfect opportunity to be creative, meet others on the crew, and decide if it’s of interest!
Work days are 10am – 4pm , lunch provided:
May 22, May 23, May 29, May 30, and May 31
